New! Entrapment Neuropathies Unlocked: Examination to Intervention
Introduction to Manual Therapy and Neurodynamic Strategies for Clinical Problem Solving
Entrapment neuropathies are frequently overlooked—or mismanaged—despite being a common contributor to pain, weakness, and functional limitation. Many clinicians rely on incomplete assessments or default treatment strategies that fail to fully address the underlying neural component of neural tension and entrapment.
This course is designed to change that.
Through a practical, hands-on approach, you will learn how to confidently identify, assess, and treat peripheral nerve entrapments using a combination of manual therapy techniques, neurodynamic assessment, and clinical reasoning. Rather than memorizing isolated techniques, you’ll develop a structured, problem-solving framework you can apply immediately in the clinic.
What makes this course different?
This hybrid format is designed to address the growing interest in online courses, yet still provide the hands-on, lab-based skills acquisition that is so important for therapists.
This is not a passive, lecture-heavy experience. The course is designed to provide you with a solid background through self-paced, on-demand on-line modules combined with in-person skills acquisition. You’ll spend most of the onsite course applying concepts through guided labs, case-based discussions, and clinical decision-making strategies that reflect real-world complexity.
By the end of this course, you will be able to move beyond protocol-driven care and confidently manage complex nerve-related presentations with a clear, repeatable clinical approach for addressing peripheral nerve entrapment and adverse neural tension.
If you’re ready to sharpen your clinical reasoning, expand your hands-on skillset, and get better results with challenging patients – this course will give you the tools to do it.
Requirements:
For the on-demand, online Self-Study portion of the course, you will be required to:
View 6 hours of on-demand, online lectures and demonstrations, and successfully complete an online post-test with a passing score of 90%. Prior to attending the live, in-person portion of the course, you must view all recordings and pass the post-test.
For the live portion of the course, you will be required to:
• wear shorts and a halter top or tank top for lab sessions.
• wear comfortable clothing over lab attire, so you are not cold during lecture sessions.
• Bring a yoga mat for your personal use during lab sessions.
Upon completion of online registration, you will be emailed a course receipt. This is NOT a course confirmation. Your course confirmation will be sent separately. It is recommended that you wait for written course confirmation prior to booking non-refundable travel or lodging. If you have not received course confirmation 10 days prior to your live CE course, please contact Rehab Education, LLC to check on status of your registration.
Accessing the Pre-Course:
Upon completion of your online registration, you will be emailed a course receipt. This is NOT a course confirmation. Once the required minimum number of participants have registered, you will receive an email confirmation along with details on how to access your online independent-study Pre-Course .
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Analyze patient history and clinical presentation to differentiate entrapment neuropathies from musculoskeletal and other neurogenic conditions.
- Explain the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms and contributing factors associated with peripheral nerve entrapment.
- Identify and prioritize relevant anatomical structures and common sites of peripheral nerve entrapment to guide examination and intervention.
- Perform a comprehensive examination of the peripheral nervous system using a tetrad of tests, including neurodynamic testing to identify the entrapment site(s) and scope of dysfunction.
- Synthesize examination findings to direct clinical decision-making and establish a focused and efficient plan of care.
- Apply skilled manual therapy techniques to address nerve interface dysfunction and surrounding tissue impairments.
- Implement and grade neurodynamic interventions (e.g., nerve gliding and tensioning) based on irritability, severity, and patient response.
- Design individualized, patient-centered intervention plans that integrate manual therapy, neurodynamic principles, and functional rehabilitation.
- Modify examination and intervention strategies in response to patient progress, outcomes, and clinical findings.
- Integrate management of entrapment neuropathies into functional tasks and occupation-based or movement-based rehabilitation.
This hybrid course includes on-demand, independent study components (recorded lectures and demonstrations) which must be completed prior to the on-site training, allowing the in-person sessions to be heavily lab-based.
